How to reorder the sections in your resume
The order of the sections is yours to set. Put Education above Experience if you are a recent graduate, or move Skills to the top if that is what you most want read first.
-
Open your resume in the editor and stay on Edit.
-
Look at the Sections list on the left. Every section under Summary can be dragged, and the whole row is the handle.
The Sections list, with a grip beside each name. -
Drag a section up or down and drop it where you want it. A line shows where it will land.
Good to know
- The new order is stored as you drop, and the indicator beside the resume title reads Saved. There is no save button.
- Summary stays at the top and cannot be moved. You can still drop another section onto it, which means "put this first".
- The order applies to your PDF, your Word file, and your public resume page.
- Two templates, Elemental and Regal, always print Skills, Honors, and Languages in their side column. On those two, moving one of those sections does not move it out of the sidebar.
