Paste the job post and add your resume. You get a version of your resume written for that job, with every fact kept and nothing invented.

We tailor your resume to the job while keeping it truthful.

Private Free rewrites Never invents experience

How it works

  1. Paste the job. The description itself, or a link to the posting.
  2. Add your resume. Upload a PDF, DOCX or plain-text file, or import your LinkedIn profile.
  3. Read your job version. Your experience, described in the language of the posting. Edit any line, pick a design, and download it.

What changes, and what never does

  • Your wording changes. What you really did is rewritten in the language the job uses.
  • Nothing is invented. No numbers, employers, job titles or skills you do not have.
  • Your resume stays as it was. The result is a separate job version, so the resume you started from is untouched.
  • No score. Resumonk does not grade your resume with a number. Once you save your job version, it lists the skills the job asks for that your resume does not show, and you add only the ones you really have.

Questions about tailoring a resume

Does tailoring a resume actually work?

It helps the person reading it. A recruiter reads a resume against one job's needs, so your real experience, described in that job's own words, is easier to match to it. What tailoring cannot do is add experience you do not have, and Resumonk never tries to.

Can ChatGPT tailor my resume?

It can rewrite text you paste into it, but you then copy every line back into a document and check that nothing was invented. Resumonk reads your LinkedIn profile or resume file and the job post, writes a separate job version in a designed template from your real experience, and lets you edit every line and download it.

Can I tailor my resume for free?

Yes, once. The free plan includes one rewrite of your resume for a job, and you can download it as a PDF with a small "Created using Resumonk" footer. The paid plans include a rewrite for every job you apply to, with no footer.

How do you tailor a resume to a specific job posting?

Read the posting for what it asks for most, describe your real work in its words, and leave out what does not help. Resumonk does this from the posting you paste: it keeps your facts, uses the job's language, and once you save the result it lists the skills the job asks for that your resume does not show, so you can add the ones you really have.
