Stuart Bollefer

A law graduate of the University of Toronto, Stuart Bollefer stands out as a prominent tax attorney in Canada. Over the years, he has published dozens of articles on tax law in industry journals, and stands out as the co-author, editor, and principal contributor to two well-regarded volumes on corporate tax and business succession planning. Additionally, Stuart Bollefer is regularly invited to speak at conferences for industry groups throughout Canada.

Stuart Bollefer began his career in tax law as an associate lawyer with Morris/Rose/Ledgett in Toronto, Canada. He made partner within two years of joining the firm while focusing on income and corporate tax issues, and developing a client base which included business owners and high-net-worth individuals. He also gained extensive experience in cross-border taxation and US–Canada tax issues during this time.

Currently, Stuart Bollefer serves as a senior tax partner with Toronto-based Aird & Berlis, LLP. Since joining the firm in 2000, he has worked with owner-managers and high-net-worth individuals to develop beneficial tax strategies, such as the use of family trusts and tax-planned wills. Additionally, he draws upon his background in cross-border tax issues to counsel foreign trust companies, non-resident Canadians, and internationally based clients interested in investing in Canadian businesses or real estate.
