Kate Merli

With experience spanning venture capital, audits, and taxes, Kate Merli guides the New York private equity firm New 2nd Capital as chief financial officer. She manages the distribution and capital call processes, as well as fiduciary account cash flows. Guiding quarterly budget reporting activities, Kate Merli oversees the financial review process of the fund administrator, as well as the yearly audit process.

Ms. Merli’s responsibilities extend to oversight and accounting of the full range of external services providers that function beyond the firm’s core capacities of capital raising and investment. She monitors cash flows within the fiduciary account, as well as payment to third-party vendors.

Previously with a family office in Boston for four years as accounting manager, Ms. Merli led the full range of in-house investor and fund reporting activities. These spanned a pair of active private equity funds and associated co-investment vehicles, and represented assets in the $1 billion range. Kate Merli also directed the process of setting up a family office and fulfilling reporting requirements for the firm’s managing partner.
