Michael Younessi was born in Iran in 1969 and left the country with his family after the revolution of 1979. The family settled in Huntington Beach, California, where Michael Younessi attended Edison High School and worked part-time as a keyboardist for famous Persian singers. In order to attend college at a younger age, he obtained his GED, but after founding a fabrics business as an undergraduate, he quit to devote himself to this business full-time.
Michael Younessi later co-founded 3D Embroidery Mills and 3D Silk Screening & Printing, a company that provided embroidery and silkscreen services to some of the best-known brand names in the garment industry. Over several years, the company grew to employ more than 300 people. During this same period, Mr. Younessi met his wife.
He currently lives in Orange County, California, with his wife and their four children. The family belongs to the Congregation Adat Israel and Chabad of Orange County.
