As a senior web engineer at GigSalad, you'll be creating and working on systems for a platform that services over two million users. We're looking for a talented, experienced pro - a developer who is adept at writing clean and performant PHP, SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. As an instrumental part of the company, you'll work in collaboration with engineering and product teams, communicating via Slack and video chat. In return, you'll have the opportunity to work on an exciting product and with a team that is passionate about growing the company in a sustainable way.

You will typically:

• Help define and construct the architecture behind new initiatives using PHP, JavaScript, and SQL
• Implement prototype UIs and UX processes (given mockups and direction)
• Build upon and improve existing systems
• Participate in ongoing discussion with product, engineering, and other teams to bring simplicity to complex issues
  

Requirements

The developer we're looking for has:

• 8+ years experience programming for the web
• Expert-level familiarity with PHP
• A strong grasp of programming best practices
• The ability to work in a highly autonomous remote structure
• Solid communication skills

It's great to also have experience with:

• SASS & BEM naming conventions
• JavaScript (knowledge of Node.js, React, jQuery, and more)
• MariaDB (or MySQL)
• Redis
• Elasticsearch
• nginx
• Linux (Ubuntu)
