An Introduction to Forage

At Forage, we believe that talent is evenly distributed, but opportunity is not. We want to build a world where every student has the opportunity to build vital career skills and industry knowledge for free, and in so doing, give everyone the chance to discover and land their dream job.

Today, millions of candidates explore Forage virtual experiences to learn more about the unique and compelling work companies have to offer. Hundreds of firms (e.g. Goldman Sachs, BCG, JPMorgan, Accenture) around the world currently showcase their work and career paths on Forage.  Our global reach means we can make a direct impact on the world’s future workforce in ways no other company can.

This is a rare opportunity to join a critical function in a fast-growing mission-orientated start-up with a global presence backed by world-class investors including Lightspeed Venture Partners, Blackbird, Telstra Ventures, Citi Ventures, Y-Combinator, FundersClub, SemperVirens and others.

Forage is looking for a Product Marketing Manager to join its Enterprise Marketing team!

About the Enterprise Marketing Team

The Enterprise Marketing function at Forage is responsible for not only bringing our brand to the employer market, but also for driving thought leadership in the early talent space by leveraging our unique access to employers, educators and students. Enterprise Marketing works closely with our Sales and Customer Success teams to ensure our brand is effectively showcased throughout the entire buyer journey - from awareness to advocacy.

Role Description

We are looking for a Product Marketing Manager with proven years of experience to join our small but growing Enterprise Marketing function, reporting into our Director of Enterprise Marketing. As a newly established function within an early-stage start-up, this will be an incredibly exciting, expansive and impactful role. This is a unique opportunity to be responsible for developing and leading the enterprise product marketing work for a truly category-defining product.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will see you working across the Enterprise Marketing, Sales and Customer Success, and Product teams at Forage. Your priorities will be ensuring Forage consistently has the customer at the forefront of all of its enterprise-related activities and is articulating the product’s value in a way that resonates with the market, and drives adoption and advocacy. This will include:

Refining and owning our value proposition - and ensuring it aligns with our target audience and their needs and objectives;

Refining and owning our overarching positioning and messaging, and doing so in a way that enables us to continue to own and define our product category;

Developing and implementing a framework for capturing ongoing insights into our clients, target clients, competitors, and the market more generally. This will be critical for ensuring not only ongoing improvements to our value proposition, positioning, and messaging (and how these are implemented throughout the Marketing and Sales funnel), but also our product more generally;

Developing Buyer Personas that will optimize activities across the broader Enterprise Marketing, Sales and Customer Success, and Product teams;

Working with content creators on blogs, copyrighting, social media, and case studies, as well as our Sales Enablement team, to ensure the content adequately speaks to our target audience;

Providing tactical support to our Director of Enterprise Marketing for special projects or initiatives.

Skills

Research and insights driven: You know and understand what good, credible and insightful research looks like. You not only are able to easily synthesize and draw analyses, but you are also able to coordinate and drive research initiatives.

Strategic, deep-thinker: You take time to plan, think ahead, and anticipate next steps and requirements that will set our company up for success. While you can move quickly and tactically, you are consistently working within a broader, well-thought out plan.

  • Exceptional communicator: You not only have exceptional written communication skills that enable you to seamlessly tailor messaging to various audiences, but you are also able to effectively communicate across teams internally - particularly in a fast-paced, remote, and evolving environment.

  • Results-driven self starter: You can work autonomously and with minimal supervision. You don’t need prompting - you already know what needs to happen and by when, and you’re comfortable working in a results-driven start-up environment.

Requirements

Proven experience working as a product marketer is critical.

Previous experience working in a start-up environment, particularly on a category defining product is highly desirable.

Proven track record, with demonstrable examples, of your product marketing impact.

Experience autonomously managing individuals in a fast-paced environment to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Experience working with and supporting senior leadership and external partners.

Experience working in technologies such as Hubspot, Wordpress, and Canva.

Passion for working in a fast-paced environment that will require you to roll up your sleeves, work tactically with our Director of Enterprise Marketing and help build out a growing function - while consistently representing our brand as a true market leader.
