Nathan James is looking for an eCommerce Group Lead to join our team, support senior leadership in strategy development, hiring decisions, tactical execution and to be responsible for driving revenue growth and profitability of our Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) eCommerce sales channel.

ABOUT THE ROLE

A person who will be happy, fulfilled, and successful in this role and as a remote team member at Nathan James is someone who values life and identity outside of work.

You will be responsible for initiating a dedicated and focused effort to build up and build out our D2C eCommerce infrastructure. This includes the management of our production and staging accounts, the applications we use for email, merchandising, contact acquisition, etc., analysis and reporting of site and consumer metrics, and the identification of automation opportunities that enable the company to service customers faster and more efficiently.

Ultimately, this role is responsible for delivering revenue growth and profits that meet or exceed the company’s annual budget. To accomplish this, the eCommerce Group Lead will support strategy development while determining, executing and managing plans and programs for the acquisition and retention of consumers to and the sales performance of the NathanJames.com storefront and its associated sales landers and funnels.

This position sits within the Sales Division of the Revenue Function and will work collaboratively with its colleagues in the B2B Sales Group, Digital Marketing and Customer Happiness Divisions.

This role will have unique and shared levers for driving traffic, establishing promotions, increasing AOV and continuously improving conversion rates. At the heart of this work is the ability to analyze large and complex sets of data; distilled into communicable and actionable insights; informed by seasoned experience and judgment; and the ability to generate a hypothesis, establish a split test, and identify winners using industry standard tools, like GA, Optimizely, VWO, etc.

This role is best suited for an eCommerce Ninja with several years of experience working as an eCommerce generalist or having various roles in several D2C eCommerce domains, namely email, A/B testing, social media influencers, affiliate marketing, SEO, content marketing, merchandising and marketplaces.

ABOUT YOU

You are an expert in online sales strategies and the various tactics used to acquire traffic, capture contact information and implement personalization programs that assist consumers during their purchasing journey from the awareness phase at the top of the sales funnel to the ultimate action at the bottom – the order conversion. You geek out over digital marketing, you’re constantly thinking about how to optimize the user experience and user journey, and you understand the difference between building a relationship with a customer that yields durable, lifetime value versus a transactional focus that’s only looking at revenue optimization from every touch point.

You have built or designed sales landers and funnels that capture new customers and maximize AOV with cross-selling, upselling and post-checkout upsells. Your eCommerce experience is in physical goods and preferably with a digitally native brand, but experience in the eCommerce division of an omni-channel retailer or brand is also acceptable. You have experience managing or running email marketing campaigns directly, including auto-responders with event and segment driven work-flows, and implementing UTM strategies for proper tagging, analysis and optimization of campaigns.

Additionally, you will have experience managing or supervising social media specialists and / or copywriters and have implemented influencer campaigns, contests and giveaways. Experience running direct mail campaigns is a plus. We currently use MailChimp for email and Shopify is our eCommerce platform; experience using Shopify is required. 

We would like to see a minimum of five years’ experience in a product-based, consumer goods eCommerce company. You may have a degree or you might not. That’s not what we’re looking for. We care about what you can do and how you do it.

For this role we do require that your normal workday has at least 5 hours overlap with the Montreal workday (currently UTC-5) without impinging on your personal/family life. 

This is a remote role, since we are a remote company! You’re free to work where you work best, anywhere in the world: home office, coworking space, or coffee shops. That hinges on effective writing, self-discipline, and comfort with open communication.
