Lee Chimerakis

An experienced investment manager who retired in February of 2018, Lee Chimerakis serves as an ambassador of the PGA Tour's Honda Classic tournament. Responsible for organizing community-based volunteer efforts in support of various charities on behalf of Honda Classic, Lee Chimerakis recently gathered all of the ambassadors to participate in the Big Heart Brigade’s Thanksgiving event to prepare meals for families in need.

A nonprofit organization, Big Heart Brigade prepared 50,000 Thanksgiving meals for families in South Florida as part of the 26th annual event in Palm Beach Gardens. Approximately 5,000 volunteers gathered in the days leading up to Thanksgiving to smoke hundreds of turkeys before boxing them up and shipping them to families.

Moreover, volunteers fed families at a special sit-down dinner. Following a pilot program in 2017, it was brought back in the following year. Big Heart Brigade hopes that the meals will offer families a sense of normalcy.

In addition, volunteers boxed up 3,500 meals and transported them to families affected by Hurricane Michael in the Florida Panhandle.
