Dr. Rajiv Datta

Dr. Rajiv Datta - Head and Neck Surgeon in New York

Since 2007, Dr. Rajiv Datta has served as chair of the Department of Surgery at South Nassau Communities Hospital in New York, where he also holds the positions of director of the Division of Surgical Oncology and chief of the Division of Head & Neck Surgery. Dr. Rajiv Datta studied medicine and surgery at the University of Bombay's Grant Medical College in India. He eventually went on to practice medicine in several hospitals in the United Kingdom before moving to the United States.


Upon his arrival in New York, Dr. Datta completed an internship and residency at Maimonides Medical Center. He then proceeded to complete fellowships in head and neck oncology and in surgical oncology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York.


Also experienced in academia, Dr. Rajiv Datta has taught at the State University of New York Health Science Center in Brooklyn, the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine, and Ross University School of Medicine.


Outside of work, Dr. Datta enjoys cooking and especially likes Mediterranean and Indian food. To stay active, he enjoys playing golf and cycling on bike trails.
