Vicar Dr. Ashur Soro - Leader in the Chaldean Catholic Church

The Titular Bishop of Foratiana and the vicar general of the Chaldean Catholic Diocese of Saint Peter the Apostle in El Cajon, California, Dr. Ashur Soro has a history with the Church that dates back 43 years. The church ordained him as a priest in 1982 and a bishop in 1984. Over the course of his religious service, Dr. Ashur Soro concurrently earned a master of arts in systematic theology from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, and both a licentiate of sacred theology and a doctor of sacred theology from the Saint Thomas Pontifical University in Rome, Italy. His professional interests include ecclesiology, social science, and family counseling.

When he is not attending to church matters, Dr. Ashur Soro enjoys reading books and watching films and television news programs. He also plays multiple team sports and cooks Middle Eastern and Italian cuisine. When he has a longer block of leisure time, Dr. Soro makes an effort to visit other US states.
