Hugh Ray III

Attorney Hugh M. Ray III has two decades of experience practicing law. Throughout his career, he has focused his practice on complex reorganizations, bankruptcy, and commercial litigation. He has represented both publicly traded companies undergoing reorganization, and creditors seeking to secure collections from firms in complex bankruptcy cases. Consistently rated amongst the top rated bankruptcy lawyers in Houston, Hugh M. Ray III was named a rising star by Super Lawyers in 2004, and named a "Super Lawyer" by Thomson Reuters for four consecutive years between 2010 and 2013, as well as in 2016.

Hugh Ray III earned his BA from Vanderbilt University, where he majored in both philosophy and religious studies. After earning his undergraduate degree, he pursued both a masters of divinity and a JD at Vanderbilt University, earning both in 1996. Other than bankruptcy law, a major focus of his career has been legal ethics. He helped author suggested revisions to the rules for professional conduct in Texas. He has previously served as subcommittee chair on the Texas State Bar Committee that drafted and proposed revisions to the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct.
