Clint Groom

Clint Groom holds the title of senior design director for American Eagle Outfitters in New York, where he has worked since 2002. In this capacity, he presides over the popular brand's offerings in men's denim, pants, and shorts. Clint Groom is the designer responsible for American Eagle's Flex Design feature. He conceived of and helped to engineer this textile technology, which has led to the widespread popularity of high-stretch denim in menswear.

Developing new styles and fabrics requires Clint Groom to work collaboratively with international partners. He routinely travels to visit partners in Asia to provide guidance and help garment producers there create the particular aesthetic he seeks in his work.

International travel is also a hobby for Mr. Groom, who enjoys cultivating a global perspective as he visits new places. An avid surfer as well, he attempts to scope out a prime surfing location whenever he travels. He also competes on a soccer team that travels internationally for tournaments.
