Dr Sadgun Bhandari

Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry, Newham Centre for Mental Health, Glen Road, Plaistow, London E13 8SP. This post was based at Newham in East London. The post serves a catchment area of 30,000 adults. It is one of 3 posts with a CMHT and the in-patient unit is based at the Newham Centre for Mental Health.

The duties involved providing Consultant responsibility for community, out-patients and in-patients. I had over 60 patients on enhanced level of CPA and I conducted ward rounds, out-patient clinics and CPA reviews. I also provided liaison cover once a week and participated in the on-call rota. Other duties included providing tribunal reports, liaising with Social services and other services, attending case conferences and providing court reports and conducting prison visits. Management duties have included running the liaison service and improving this service. In addition the post also includes providing training to SHOs and medical students.

Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry and Assertive Outreach Team at the MHU, QE II  Hospital, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, AL7 4HQ. My duties involve regular new and follow-up outpatient clinics, looking after in-patients both from the catchment area and Assertive Outreach.

I have a wide range of experience in managing particularly complex and challenging patients suffering from psychotic conditions and treating patients with affective and anxiety disorders. September 2013: My job has changed and I am currently a Community Mental Health Team Consultant covering Hatfield, Hertfordshire.
