Dave Hendry

Dave Hendry is currently Senior Vice President of Curriculum Management at Age of Learning.

Overseeing the ABCmouse Curriculum development team, Dave Hendry has been instrumental in the overwhelming success of the ABCmouse Early Learning Academy, the early childhood education resource that has earned numerous awards, including the Children’s Technology Review Editor’s Choice Award, the Teacher’s Choice Award, and the Parent’s Choice Gold Award. ABCmouse is used by millions of children as well as teachers in more than 65,000 classrooms. Dave Hendry is also responsible for the curriculum for the new ABCmouse for Schools solution. 

Prior to his work on ABCmouse for Age of Learning, Dave Hendry had an award-winning career producing curriculum publications, educational documentaries, and other education-related projects.

Dave Hendry’s curriculum publications include the award-winning teacher's guides for the instructional television series FUTURES with Jaime Escalante, The Eddie Files, and Interactions: Real Math-Real Careers. He is also author of the instructional guidelines for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory documentary Catch the Wind: The QuikSCAT Story, the National Center for Atmospheric Research documentary High Hopes, the Borrego Solar Curriculum and Lutron’s Lighting for Learning curriculum.

As producer of the documentary Good Morning Miss Toliver and The Eddie Files, Mr. Hendry is two-time winner of the George Foster Peabody award, and he has won The Educational Press Association's highest award for curriculum resources. Mr. Hendry has directed development activities for four National Science Foundation projects, for two of which he was Principal Investigator, has served as Principal Investigator in two US Department of Education Professional Development projects, and is the creator of The National Math Trail.

Dave Hendry's four-part mission at Green Education was:

To provide educators with resources that support efforts to incorporate into their curricula the concepts, principles and applications of sustainable practices and technologies.

To enable educators to contextualize their curriculum using real world applications of sustainable technologies and principles, and to help their students to understand related career and life opportunities.

To help those who create and/or seek to distribute green/sustainability resources to teachers.

To connect those who are applying sustainable practices and technologies in the real world with teachers and students.
