Chuck Rocha - Political Consultant for Latino Interests

The son of a union worker, Chuck Rocha encourages nationwide political action for Latinos and other groups. As the founder of Solidarity Strategies in Washington, DC, Chuck Rocha runs one of the few progressive consulting firms that is 100 percent minority owned and operated.

He served as a senior adviser for Sen. Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign, for which he won the 2016 Goldie's All Stars award for political action. Chuck Rocha's organization also has guided some 50 congressional candidates, creating direct mail campaigns and sponsoring national polls.

Prior to leading his company, Rocha was the political director of the Blue Green Alliance, where he was charged with building links between labor and environmental activists. While with the Blue Green Alliance, he brought in the Sierra Club and the Natural Resources Defense Council as partners. Earlier, he spent a decade as the national political director of the United Steelworkers of America, where he worked to improve members' living standards and handled a $30 million budget.

Chuck Rocha has served several other organizations as well. He is now a fellow at the Truman Center, which advocates for some 1,500 veterans and their families. Additionally, he was a board member of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute and the Labor Council of Latin American Advancement.

A frequent guest on MSNBC and Fox News, he counsels young Latinos in the Washington area and assists several LGBTQ causes. Rocha also contributes to The Hill's blogs, commenting recently on Donald Trump's statement about taco trucks.
