John Hornbostel

With nearly 30 years of experience as an attorney, John Hornbostel functions as associate general counsel for Franklin Templeton Investments in New York City, a position he has held since 2014. He manages global legal and regulatory services for the company's Alternatives and Solutions businesses. The multi-asset solutions business is a priority within the firm and has initiated a number of innovative product solutions. Previously, Mr. Hornbostel served as general counsel and senior managing director for K2 Advisors, a Franklin Templeton Investments company.

John Hornbostel began his legal career as an associate at White & Case in New York, then spent six years as assistant general counsel and vice president of the American International Group, Inc. More recently he acted as deputy general counsel, head of alternatives legal, and managing director of PineBridge Investments (formerly AIG Investments), also based in New York.

John Hornbostel achieved a BA in American history from Middlebury College in Vermont and earned his JD from Fordham School of Law in New York. He is admitted to practice in New York, and he formerly served on the Committee on Private Investment Funds.
