Katonya Hughey

As a senior vice president of People's United Bank's retirement division, Katonya Hughey oversees marketing, staff training, and client management. Since joining the company in April of 2016, Katonya Hughey has helped increase revenue by $120,000 and launched a successful mailing campaign that secured five new clients.

Prior to joining People's, Katonya Hughey served as head of sales and recruiting for Ebix Consulting (formerly Vertex, Inc.), where she provided executive support of the firm's employee retention program and developed metrics to track recruiting and sales activity. From 2007 to 2011, she worked at Hartford, Connecticut's Prudential Retirement, where she held titles as vice president of relationship management and director of defined benefit relationship management. In the latter role, she handled a staff of 18 managers responsible for over 600 defined benefit retirement plans with assets exceeding $1 billion.

Ms. Hughey began her career with ING/Aetna Financial Services in 1988 where she assumed a variety of roles, including project manager and client relations manager for the firm's Southeast territory. She earned a bachelor's in business management from Albertus Magnus College, and completed her master's in organizational leadership at Quinnipiac University in 2013.
