Ramiz Bajwa

An accomplished hospitality professional with medical training, Ramiz Bajwa brings six years of management experience to his position as the owner and operator of Poke Bar in San Francisco. In this leadership role, he guides all front-of-house and back-of-house operations for a small restaurant, including inventory management, staff hiring and training, and vendor negotiations. Since he assumed control of Poke Bar, Ramiz Bajwa has implemented strategies that have increased sales by more than 10 percent.

Before he joined Poke Bar, Bajwa gained restaurant leadership proficiencies as a manager of Chutney Restaurant, also in San Francisco. There, he designed several initiatives that reduced staff turnover, increased sales, and overhauled the inventory-management process while hiring, training, and directing a team of more than 15 skilled employees.

In addition to his responsibilities in restaurant management, Ramiz Bajwa stands out as a trained medical professional who holds a doctor of medicine (MD) from the All Saints University of Medicine in Roseau, Dominica. While he earned his MD, he completed clinical rotations at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he excelled as one of the only students to gain hands-on surgical experience. Outside of his professional life, Bajwa enjoys volunteering in underprivileged communities and pursuing hobbies such as painting, cooking, and hiking.
