Anna Richo

Anna Richo of Biopharmaceutical Firm UCB

An attorney and corporate executive, Anna Richo has offered her legal services to various health care and medical firms. Since November 2012, Richo has served as executive vice president and general counsel of UCB, a biopharmaceutical firm. Based out of Brussels, Belgium, she provides guidance to UCB's Legal, Corporate Compliance, and Intellectual Property units, and sits on its Executive Committee. Before accepting this role, Anna Richo performed as senior vice president and chief compliance officer for Amgen Inc., and as vice president of law for the BioScience Division of Baxter Healthcare Corporation.

In addition to these responsibilities, Richo has held directorships at several entities. From 1998 until 2003, she belonged to the Board of Directors of Cytyc Corporation, which developed medical diagnostic application devices. The lobbying group California Manufacturers and Technology Association benefited from her leadership as vice chairman of the board. Until moving to Belgium, Anna Richo functioned as co-chair of Pepperdine University School of Law's Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution's Council of Distinguished Advisors starting with its establishment in 2006. She earned her law degree from DePaul University College of Law.
