Joann Baney

Accomplished Corporate Communications Consultant

Based in New York, Joann Baney consults with corporate clients through the Professional Development Company, Inc. As a cofounder and co-owner, she offers senior executives personalized assistance in learning effective communication skills. She also helps organizations and government agencies create tailored communication development programs. Joann Baney has additionally served as an associate professor with Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs for nearly a decade. She currently teaches classes as part of the executive MPA program at SIPA and has lectured at the Graduate School of Public Health.

Professor Baney's teaching responsibilities extend to a number of other executive programs, including Columbia's Essentials of Management and courses at the King Khalid Foundation in Saudi Arabia. She also serves on the faculty of the New York Police Department's Police Management Institute and directs activities of the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) Officers Management Institute. Ms. Baney has earned Honorary Battalion Chief recognition from the FDNY. Joann Baney completed her bachelor's degree at the University of Chicago and pursued an MBA at Columbia University.
