William Pino (Miami)

Since earning his bachelor of science in electrical engineering from the University of Costa Rica in San Jose, Costa Rica, William Pino has completed extensive outdoor municipal lighting projects in southern Florida. These projects include providing high mast lighting for Miami International Airport and lighting for both campus roadways and parking lots at Miami Dade Community College South. William Pino most recently served as the president and chief executive officer of Florida Lighting & Traffic, Inc., Main Street Engineering, Inc., and Municipal Lighting Systems, Inc. He also founded each of these organizations.

Mr. Pino is fluent in both English and Spanish and conversational in four other European languages. He holds active membership in multiple professional engineering organizations, such as the National Society of Professional Engineers and the Association of Cuban Engineers. His current professional interests include designing miniature wind and solar generators to supply electricity for homes in struggling regions of Haiti, Nicaragua, and other third-world countries.
