California Physician and Tour Director Manuel Marquez, MD
Manuel Marquez, MD, spent 25 years as a family practice physician in the Oxnard and Ventura areas of California before focusing his professional efforts on the travel industry. As a family primary care physician he spent more than a decade at the Buenaventura Medical Clinic. Manuel Marquez, MD, subsequently served as department chairperson and medical executive officer for the Buenaventura Medical Group (BMG), among other medical positions.
In his role as a bilingual, International Tour Management Institute (ITMI) certified tour director and travel industry professional, Manuel Marquez, MD, draws on his experience as a Southern California tour guide familiar with the Los Angeles area, as well as northern points of interest such as Big Sur and the San Francisco Bay Area. He also has international travel experience, having taken many excursions throughout Mexico, Europe, and many other destinations. He maintains a knowledge base for international travel to dozens of nations all over the globe.
Manuel Marquez, MD, studied chemistry as an undergraduate at Harvard College in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Shortly after graduating magna cum laude he enrolled in the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical School. Prior to earning his medical degree he became a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Society, a professional medical group dedicated to improving the quality of medical services and resources available for both students and practitioners. He completed his medical training at Ventura County Medical Center as a family practice resident.
