New York City Fund Managing Principal Michael Mikelic

Based in New York City, Michael Mikelic serves as managing principal of King Penguin Opportunity Fund III LLC, a $100 million private equity fund. The fund focuses on acquiring value-added commercial properties in high-density locations in revitalizing cities across the country. He is especially interested in secondary cities, which have populations of 500,000 to 3 million residents. Michael Mikelic also spent six years as managing principal of the King Penguin Opportunity Fund LLC, a multifamily commercial real estate portfolio for which achieved net returns of between 14 and 33 percent. He attended the University of Michigan, where he studied economics and earned recognition as a dean's list student.


In his free time, Michael Mikelic enjoys supporting a number of local charities and organizations, including the Windham Path, a two-mile-long path winding through the Northern Catskills of Greene County in Upstate New York, and the Central Park Conservancy, which cares for and maintains Central Park.
