Dr Ira Klemons

Dr. Ira Klemons' Service to Patients from Underprivileged Backgrounds

Based in South Amboy, Dr. Ira Klemons most recently led the Center for Headaches and Facial Pain and treated patients for conditions ranging from jaw pain to tinnitus. A member of the New Jersey Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, Dr. Ira Klemons also previously served as president of the American Board of Craniofacial Pain.

Committed to humanitarian activities, Dr. Klemons received commendation from the New Jersey State Senate for his treatment of patients from underprivileged backgrounds around the globe. His medical travels took him to the Himalayas, where he journeyed on foot to treat remote villagers, many of whom had never seen a doctor. He also cared for patients in need in New York City and in the Appalachian region.

Dr. Klemons holds a dental degree from the New York University College of Dentistry and completed doctoral work at Pennsylvania State University. He wrote a dissertation titled "Chronic Head and Facial Pain and Dysfunction: Their Interrelationships, Diagnosis and Treatment by Mandibular Orthopedic Repositioning." In receiving his PhD, Dr. Ira Klemons became the first U.S. practitioner to complete a doctorate in facial pain, TM joint dysfunctions, and headaches.
