Bob Osborne is a Man of Many Interests

A graduate in criminal justice from Tunxis Community College in Farmington, Connecticut, Bob Osborne has some 14 years' experience as a police officer for the city of Bristol. Bob Osborne received the city's Police Officer of the Year honor in 2006.


His areas of professional interest include homeland security, foreign relations, and the law. He now studies criminology at Central Connecticut State University. His record also includes a tour of duty in the US Army.


In his time off, Osborne supports the New England Patriots, the Boston Red Sox, and the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. He remembers exciting moments when the Red Sox won the World Series and the Patriots took the Super Bowl. He has also competed in two marathons and enjoys running in Connecticut's Farmington Valley.


He supports several service organizations, including the Boys and Girls Club, the Leas Foundation, DARE, and Vie for the Kids. He is also a member of the Bristol Police Union Local 754 and Phi Kappa Sigma.


Travel attracts Bob Osborne, too, particularly to Boston and the small towns of Vermont. He would like to match his interest in international affairs with a trip to Europe.
