Sarah Baia

Sarah Baia, in-house counsel for The Hartford in New York State, builds on almost a decade of experience in commercial and labor law. She began her career as a graduate of Albany Law School, through which she completed summer associate work at Couch White, LLP, and Daniels & Porco, LLP. Sarah Baia then went on to an internship with Taylor and Associates, where she performed research and litigation-based tasks for Liberty Mutual insurance.

In 2008, Sarah Baia earned her juris doctor and became eligible for admission to the New York State Bar after passing the Bar Exam. She accepted a staff position with the Albany firm of Tabner, Ryan and Keniry, LLP, where she worked on cases ranging from estate planning and probate to labor and business law. Ms. Baia has also distinguished herself as an attorney for the Troy, New York, firm of Stockton, Barker & Mead, LLP, representing insurers and self-insured entities in a variety of defense matters.

An accomplished performer as well, Ms. Baia has appeared in more than 40 musical and theatrical productions at the community, college, and professional levels. She holds an associate of applied science (AAS) in vocal performance and, in 2011, performed as a vocalist at Carnegie Hall.
